Important Notice!
This year's parade is on Saturday morning at 10:00am, not the Friday night of previous years!
The starting point is the Lakeview Gospel Assembly on Main Street. Walkers and cyclists should gather in the parking lot by 9:45am. Vehicles will line up facing north on Verona St (the street parallel to Main Street behind the businesses). Use Bank St. to Verona Street and line up on Verona St. facing north. The usual barrier between Verona St. and the LGA parking lot will be removed, allowing the parade vehicles access to Main St.
Prizes!
The parade theme for this year is "Dinosaurs, Dragons and Ducks". Any group, person or business from Verona or area is welcome to take part. No previous registration or notice is required. Show up and you're in the parade! Use any one or all of the themes for your decorations. Prizes will be awarded in seven different categories:
Prizes will be awarded for the Best Decorated:- Business Float
- Group or Organization Float
- Family Float (Family name should be visible)
- Horse and Rider
- Child Walking or Riding a Bicycle
- Vehicle
Note that in all the foregoing categories, it is the Decoration that is being judged, not the horse, vehicle or person. Entries will be judged according to attractiveness, ingenuity and adherence to the theme.
This year a new category has been established to encourage jugglers, acrobats, bands, clowns etc. to participate in the parade. These people do not need to be decorated according to the theme. If you have a talent, put it on show!
- Best Entertainer
The parade route is south on Main St. to Verona Sand Rd., turning west directly to the Lion's Club. It's a longish walk for youngsters. We encourage you to have them ride on floats or ride bicycles.
